Engineering, Design
and Specification Consultation

Our experienced personnel offer free assistance to ensure your design and specifications are complete and unambiguous and can assist you in choosing the right products and design for your specific application and budget.  You may provide us with a conceptual detail about your vision for the window profile, and we will give you detail to reflect the look you want in a fully functional system.

Project Estimating, Bidding
and Value-Engineering

Our estimating department has over 40 years experience in the glass glazing industry.  We provide free estimates and bids on residential, commercial, and government projects of all sizes and complexity and will offer product alternatives to fit your specific needs and budget.  Our in-depth knowledge of window, storefront and curtainwall applications allows us to accurately determine the cost of a given project, and to also advise customers on appropriate products and procedures.

Project Management

Upon contract award, Big Island Windows and Glass Company will assign a Project Manager that efficiently coordinates all operations with a project team of highly skilled and experienced glaziers with demonstrated skill and superior workmanship reflected in every aspect of their work.

The Project Manager is charged with the project’s successful completion, on time and within budget.  The Project Manager coordinates the operation from its inception, and is responsible for all scheduling, review of shop drawings, ordering and coordinating deliveries of materials, scheduling manpower and completing close-out procedures.

Manufacturing

Since 1983, Big Island Windows, Inc. has manufactured custom high quality, proprietary single-glazed anodized aluminum patio doors, horizontal sliding windows and full-frame louvered windows.  BIW is unique in that it is the only patio door and window production facility on the Big Island and offers replacement top and bottom rails with an aluminum housing vinyl roller wheel assembly that will not rust.

Fabrication

Essential to the timely and cost controlled successful completion of our client’s projects, custom fabrication can be performed at our 10,000 sq.ft. facility in Kailua-Kona or directly on the job-site, depending upon the project size and location.  Our team of experienced professionals works closely with the Project Manager to ensure proper timing of material movement and scheduling of installation.

Installation

Big Island Windows and Glass Company is a glass-glazing subcontractor (License #C24769) that fabricates and installs glass to meet specific project requirements.  We install curtain walls, strip window systems, skylights, storefronts, operable windows, automatic entrances, revolving doors, panel systems, art glass and glazing for interiors, bullet/blast resistance and fire-rated systems, to name a few systems available.

We train our own field employees, setting strict quality control standards for all installations.  Training includes a thorough grounding in construction safety procedures, which are practiced at every job site.  This experienced team of craftsmen is dedicated to the highest levels of workmanship and professionalism.
